Song Capital Partners is a UK & European investment firm founded by Dan MacKinnon and Tom Pritchard.
We deploy scalable debt and equity to acquire or recapitalise businesses that generate high-quality, asset-backed cashflows. To do so, we commit long-term proprietary capital alongside trusted institutional partners.
Our principal team have through-the-cycle experience across asset classes and investment strategies including operational real estate, private equity, growth capital and special situations.

Dan MacKinnon
Partner & Co-Founder
Co-founded Song Capital in 2021, oversees all transactions and portfolio assets today.
University of Oxford BA before starting career at Rothschild Investment Banking. Background in corporate and asset-backed special situation investments.
Primary responsibility at Song Capital for raising debt and other preferred instruments. Financings delivered for Song Capital transactions range from long-dated structured notes and leveraged loans, to bridge debt and preferred equity.
Tom Pritchard
Partner & Co-Founder
Co-founded Song Capital in 2021, oversees all transactions and portfolio assets today.
Chartered Surveyor with asset-backed private equity background. Previously Senior Director in the Operational Real Estate team at CBRE.
Primary responsibility at Song Capital for real estate financing. Successfully partnered with institutional capital to close over £4bn UK and European ground rent, sale & leaseback, income strip and debt transactions in the last 5 years.
Neil Hyman
Partner & Executive Chairman
Previously a partner and Corporate and M&A lawyer with Slaughter and May for >30 years.
Significant experience in corporate, public and private M&A, equity and financing transactions in multiple sectors, with a particular focus on corporate and private equity transactions with long-dated debt securities.
Glyn Barker
Partner
Previously PWC for 35 years where he led the Assurance practice, established and led the Private Equity advisory business and was UK Managing Partner.
He was chairman of Berkeley Group Plc (a leading UK Housebuilder) and senior independent director of Aviva plc – both FTSE 100 constituents.
Glyn is currently chairman of Irwin Mitchell (law firm), a director of Transocean (deep water oil drilling – listed in New York and Switzerland) and Various Eateries plc (London listed).
Andy Newsome
Partner
Andy has over 35 years of M&A tax and structuring experience at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte.
He was the Founding Partner of the Deloitte UK M&A Tax Group and subsequently the Global leader of M&A Tax Services and the Global Private Equity & Sovereign Wealth Industry Leader at Deloitte. He has significant expertise in M&A tax structuring for PE and Corporate investors including the structuring of long-dated, asset-backed securitisation instruments.
Chris Ashcroft
Partner
Previously RBS Investment Bank for 16 years, MD and co-head of UK Risk Solutions business. Over 20 years markets and structured finance experience across credit, rates, and derivatives.
Specific focus on complex corporate and structured funding transactions, with associated risk management solutions in both public and private sector assets.
Principal track record includes co-founding a U.K. affordable housing business.
Paddy Smith
Director, Investment & Asset Management
Previously NatWest Markets and Nomura International Vice President, specialising in insurance and pension solutions and associated risk management in both public and private markets. 8 years markets and structured finance experience across credit, rates, and derivatives.
Successfully distributed over £3.5bn of private market assets to UK and other global pension funds, insurance and asset management companies over the past 5 years. Sectors include; infrastructure, commercial real estate, universities and education, local authority, healthcare, energy, project finance and utilities.
Greg Smith
Associate Director, Investment & Asset Management
Previously Catalina Re for over 4 years. Greg was part of the two-person team responsible for the in-house direct lending real estate mandate.
Prior to that, Greg was at Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets, most recently in the real estate equity JV with Homes England and before that, leverage finance and credit trading.
Greg has passed all three levels of CFA.
Sarah Strong
Executive Assistant & Office Manager
Sarah has worked in business support roles within real estate since 2005. Initially working with directors at Leander Group assisting with back of house management for their restaurant and cocktail bars, before moving to mid and large-scale companies such as Warner Estate, CLS Holdings and Sony.
In 2013 Sarah joined CBRE in the Specialist Markets team which merged to become Operational Real Estate. The role developed from a PA through to EA/Operations working closely with the MD and COO to deliver key strategic priorities and initiatives.
