Our principal team have through-the-cycle experience across asset classes and investment strategies with a particular focus on long-dated, structured credit solutions.

University of Oxford BA before starting career at Rothschild Investment Banking. Background in corporate and asset-backed special situation investments.

Tom Pritchard

Co-founded Song Capital in 2021, oversees all transactions and portfolio assets today.

Chartered Surveyor with asset-backed private equity background. Previously Senior Director in the Operational Real Estate team at CBRE.

Neil Hyman

Partner & Executive Chairman

Previously a partner and Corporate and M&A lawyer with Slaughter and May for >30 years.

Significant experience in corporate, public and private M&A, equity and financing transactions in multiple sectors, with a particular focus on corporate and private equity transactions with long-dated debt securities.

Glyn Barker

Partner

Previously PWC for 35 years where he led the Assurance practice, established and led the Private Equity advisory business and was UK Managing Partner.

He was chairman of Berkeley Group Plc (a leading UK Housebuilder) and senior independent director of Aviva plc – both FTSE 100 constituents.

Glyn is currently chairman of Irwin Mitchell (law firm), a director of Transocean (deep water oil drilling – listed in New York and Switzerland) and Various Eateries plc (London listed).

Andy Newsome

Partner

Andy has over 35 years of M&A tax and structuring experience at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte.

​He was the Founding Partner of the Deloitte UK M&A Tax Group and subsequently the Global leader of M&A Tax Services and the Global Private Equity & Sovereign Wealth Industry Leader at Deloitte. He has significant expertise in M&A tax structuring for PE and Corporate investors including the structuring of long-dated, asset-backed securitisation instruments.

Chris Ashcroft

Partner

Previously RBS Investment Bank for 16 years, MD and co-head of UK Risk Solutions business. Over 20 years markets and structured finance experience across credit, rates, and derivatives.

Specific focus on complex corporate and structured funding transactions, with associated risk management solutions in both public and private sector assets.

Principal track record includes co-founding a U.K. affordable housing business.

Anthony O’Donoghue

Partner

Previously at Deutsche Bank for 5 years as Managing Director, Head of Risk Management Solutions UK & Ireland, Anthony had a focus on interest rate, inflation, credit and commodity derivatives alongside structured financing solutions.

Prior to this, he spent 12 years at NatWest Markets with his most recent role as Managing Director, Head of Infrastructure & Utilities, focussing on capital markets, credit and derivative solutions.

Anthony brings significant experience with large corporates, utilities, real estate, infrastructure, energy producers, private equity sponsors and social housing.

Keith Harris

Senior Advisor

Previously an Executive Director with CBRE with over 40 years’ experience in commercial real estate in the UK, Europe and the USA.

A Chartered Surveyor who has advised clients on sales, acquisitions, asset management, development and financing of all forms of real estate.

He has advised on landmark real estate transactions in excess of £10 billion in the last 10 years mostly, but not exclusively, in the healthcare sector.

Paddy Smith

Director, Investment & Asset Management

Previously NatWest Markets and Nomura International Vice President, specialising in insurance and pension solutions and associated risk management in both public and private markets. 8 years markets and structured finance experience across credit, rates, and derivatives.

Successfully distributed over £3.5bn of private market assets to UK and other global pension funds, insurance and asset management companies over the past 5 years. Sectors include; infrastructure, commercial real estate, universities and education, local authority, healthcare, energy, project finance and utilities.

Fred Richardson

Director, Head of Investment Management

Previously a Director at Alpha Real Capital LLP. A Chartered Surveyor with over 16 years experience in the real estate industry with an Investment, Fund and Asset Management background.

Fred has conducted Investment Management on behalf of Institutional, retail and private Investors through various residential and commercial real estate strategies, sectors and structures. Experience in the UK and Europe across sale and leaseback, ground rent and income strip structures and transactions.

Primary responsibility at Song Capital for real estate Investment Management and transaction management.

Greg Smith

Associate Director, Investment & Asset Management

Previously Catalina Re for over 4 years. Greg was part of the two-person team responsible for the in-house direct lending real estate mandate.

Prior to that, Greg was at Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets, most recently in the real estate equity JV with Homes England and before that, leverage finance and credit trading.

Greg has passed all three levels of CFA.

Adam Barr

Director, Legal

Previously a managing associate lawyer in the Structured Finance Group at Linklaters, with a broad experience advising on asset-backed transactions, whole business securitisations and corporate financings across a range of sectors and debt products.

Additional experience gained working from Linklaters’ New York office, and on secondment at a leading London-based pensions insurer.

Valentin Leire

Associate Director, Investment & Asset Management

Previously Head of Public Credit at Just Group overseeing c.£3bn of trading per annum with AUM of £13bn; using quantitative methods to deploy and optimise insurance capital.

Prior experience working on insurance solution desks at Lloyd’s bank.

Expertise includes insurance investment and risk management via corporate bonds, structured credit and derivatives.

Madeleine Briggs

Associate, Legal

Madeleine is an associate in the Financing Group at Slaughter and May, having qualified as a solicitor in September 2023. She is currently seconded to Song Capital.

Madeleine has worked across a broad range of financing transactions including structured finance, acquisition finance, and debt capital markets; advising borrowers, issuers and lenders.

Sarah Strong

Executive Assistant & Office Manager

Sarah has worked in business support roles within real estate since 2005. Initially working with directors at Leander Group assisting with back of house management for their restaurant and cocktail bars, before moving to mid and large-scale companies such as Warner Estate, CLS Holdings and Sony.

In 2013 Sarah joined CBRE in the Operational Real Estate team. The role developed from a PA through to EA/Operations working closely with the MD and COO to deliver key strategic priorities and initiatives.

Rabby Taher

Team Personal Assistant

Previously at Knight Frank within the residential and country business, providing PA, office management, compliance, marketing and wider firm support.

Rabby has also worked in a variety of senior business support roles in the Hospitality, Legal and Real Estate industries, primarily supporting senior individuals.
